CapitalRise Event: The resilience of prime property in uncertain times

Last month we welcomed investors, professional partners and prime property experts from across the industry for our latest event, focusing on ‘The resilience of prime property in uncertain times’.

It was a successful evening, filled with great conversation, unique insights into the prime property market and more.

We got started with drinks and networking, enjoying a little time to meet investors and developers alike before the evening began in earnest.

Our keynote speaker, Edward Green, Acting Head of Savills Residential Research took the stage first and provided an insightful, engaging and collaborative presentation, encouraging the audience to let their opinions and thoughts on the prime property market be heard via real time interactive polls.

With prime property showing its resilience over the last 50 years, it’s no surprise that Edward’s presentation immediately referred us back to the all-important Savills research showing the cyclical nature of the market and the resilience with which prime property has bounced back stronger and faster after downturns than other areas of the UK property market, since records began.

Edward went on to highlight the current effects of Brexit uncertainty on the market and Savills’ positive forecasts of prosperity and growth for the next five years. You can view and download Edward’s full presentation to find out more.

This engaging presentation lead smoothly into our expert panel discussion, hosted and moderated by Anne Ashworth, well known for her role as Editor of The Times’ Bricks & Mortar.

Our CEO, Uma Rajah was joined on the panel line up by three experts from the industry; Niccolò Barattieri di San Pietro, CEO of luxury developer Northacre London; Ian Pidgeon, Partner at Knight Frank and Edward Horn-Smith, Managing Director of specialist broker Arc &Co.

The panel voiced their experiences of prime property in current market conditions and the market’s propensity to bounce back stronger and faster following historic downturns.

Anne then opened up questions to the floor and the audience were quick to respond with perceptive and intelligent queries and insights for the panel to consider. The conversation continued as we broke for further drinks and networking – and all that we had heard from our expert speakers about the positive state of the prime market, against a backdrop of widespread political uncertainty, gave us lots of food for thought!

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many of you – but if you couldn’t make it along this time, please do keep an eye on your inbox for the next event.
