CapitalRise strengthens origination team with new Lending Director appointment

CapitalRise has strengthened its origination team with the appointment of Tim Mycock (pictured) as Lending Director, supporting the specialist property lender’s growth across the high-end bridging and development finance markets.

The appointment comes as CapitalRise celebrates ten years of lending. Over that time, it has originated loans secured against more than £1.3 billion worth of property assets.

Tim joins CapitalRise with more than 20 years’ experience across real estate finance, development, investment and structured lending. Throughout his career, he has originated and executed more than £2 billion of real estate debt transactions across development finance, bridging, mezzanine and structured lending. These have covered a broad range of sectors, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, PBSA, hotel and strategic land projects.

In his new role, Tim will work closely with borrowers, brokers and industry professionals to structure and deliver bespoke funding solutions across the high-end property market.

Tim’s breadth of sector experience comes as CapitalRise continues to grow its lending activity beyond its core specialism of residential property in London and the South East. Over recent years, the lender has expanded its geographic reach across England and Wales. Loans have included funding for a multi-unit scheme on the Hensol Castle estate in the Vale of Glamorgan, as well as supporting projects in the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Cheshire. CapitalRise also supports a variety of asset classes beyond residential schemes, having financed purpose-built student accommodation in Bath and Bristol, assisted living in Cambridgeshire, and serviced apartments in central London.

Tim joins CapitalRise from a leading UK specialist bank, where he was a Lending Director in the Development Finance team. Before that, he held senior positions across a number of real estate finance businesses, building extensive experience in debt origination, underwriting, asset management and real estate investment.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim said:

“CapitalRise has built an outstanding reputation in the market for delivering exceptional service, taking a relationship-led approach, and supporting high-quality borrowers and developments. The business has achieved impressive growth over the past decade while maintaining a strong focus on credit quality and customer experience. I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to helping drive the next phase of growth.”

Lee Francis, Head of Origination, added:

“We’re delighted to welcome Tim to CapitalRise. He brings an exceptional breadth of experience across real estate lending, together with a proven track record of originating and executing complex transactions.

“As we mark ten years of lending and the demand for our lending solutions continues to grow, including in new regions and asset classes, Tim’s expertise, relationships and specialist market knowledge will further strengthen our origination capabilities and support our ambitious growth plans.”

This appointment reinforces CapitalRise’s commitment to investing in experienced lending talent as it expands its presence in the prime property finance market, both in London and further afield.
